The snow has almost disappeared from Manitoulin Island. There are only a few trails and roads on north facing slopes and areas shaded by trees or the escarpment that have not cleared allowing access to some cottage areas. Within a week (hopefully) these should also melt. The lakes and channel still have ice. It is just beginning to break away from the shorelines to allow seeing the bottoms. This too will be better in a couple of weeks. It's time to start making your plans to visit The Island to see some real estate.
